Wintel And Virtualization Team Lead
Years of Experience: 6 – 8 Years

Responsibilities

• Installation, Configuration & Troubleshooting of Windows Servers 2008/2012
• Experience in VMWare ESX and Virtual Center virtualization technologies
• Experience in Managing Blade Servers & Chassis
• Responsible for all incidents, service requests and all alerts
• Work with appropriate hardware vendors / principle to keep all system up to date on firmware levels at the latest
• Strong Knowledge on Microsoft Clustering
• Working Knowledge of File & Print servers
• Experience in handling Anti-Virus Issues
• Driving initiatives to improve SLAs by analysis and Responses
• Responsible for driving all P1, P2, incidents, change requests and OEM/ vendor management for the tower
• Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain
• Provide, maintain, and execute Online & Operating Systems availability health checks.
• Recommend system performance enhancements (i.e. configuration, H/W, S/W, consolidation of workloads, etc.)
• Monitor online performance of all servers and take appropriate action to address performance issues.
• Propose recommendations to improve the server management process.
• Implement recommendations to improve the server management process.
• Implement root cause analysis recommendations as requested/assigned for respective areas of service responsibility.
• Work with internal and external auditors to identify and mitigate any risks
• Focus area in this domain would be to increase the compliance on house-keeping tasks for the systems in this domain through automation.

Storage and Back-up SME
Years of Experience: 6 to 8 Years

Responsibilities

• Administration of Storage & Backup environment
• Monitor Storage & Backup service availability and performance thresholds
• Expertise on EMC Power Max, VMAX, VNX, ECS HP 3par, Data domain, Replication, Data domain
• Backup Administration (EMC Networker, Data domain, Avamar, DPA)
• Experience in setting up backup media retentions, LUN creation, Storage space management
• Ensure all the Servers, Database and Data is backed up as per policy guidelines
• Strong depth knowledge of analysis for storage backend problems & troubleshooting Brocade Switches
• Knowledge of upgrading HBA firmware and Drivers on UNIX and Windows Servers
• Experience in troubleshooting HBA issues on Windows and Unix Operating systems
• Ensure backup schedules are completed successfully for all the systems
• Report and action on failed backup schedule.
• Propose and prepare restoration calendar, and do periodic restoration drills for the following but limited to Exchange, Database, Applications, OS, Fileserver, SAN etc.
• Configure backup schedule for any servers deployed in both Projects and Production.
• Optimize tape utilization by not affecting the backup functionality.
• Manage daily offsite tape movement.
• Perform periodic audit on offsite location.
• Propose and prepare effective backup standard operating work instructions and policy
• Execution of backup/recovery procedures
• Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain

Storage and Backup Senior Engineer
Years of Experience: 3 to 5 Years

Database Management – Oracle SME
Years of Experience: 6 to 8 Years

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing support of SQL Infrastructure
• Installation and configuration of SQL Server in single and cluster mode.
• Primarily role is supporting the production and development SQL 2008/2012 databases
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL on Windows Servers
• Good experience in Replication, Log shipping, Clustering
• Experience in Database patch Installation, clean up, cloning, DB Job scheduling.
• Configuring and maintaining Database replication / standby / clusters.
• Creation of maintenance plans and jobs for update stats , defragmentation
• Verify that Server has enough resources for acceptable performance
• Review contention for CPU, memory, network, and disk resources
• Review fragmentation by investigating row chaining and other areas of fragmentation
• Capture Performance Statistics using performance monitors
• Define Backup policy and retention policy for complete/differential/transaction backup
• Conduct backup, restoration drills for backup verification in different scenarios.
• Hands on experience and excellent knowledge of DB administration, License Management, Version upgrades and migrations
• Execution of backup/recovery procedures
• Creation and Maintenance of Database Instances & Performance fine tuning

UNIX/LINUX Management SME
Years of Experience: 6 to 8 Years

Responsibilities

• Administration of Red hat Linux,Solaris,Oracle Linux environment.
• Installation, Configuration & Troubleshooting of Red hat Linux,Solaris,Oracle Linux
• Experience in virtualization technologies
• Strong Knowledge on clustering and trouble shooting
• Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain
• Perform user account management such as user creation, user deletion, modification etc.
• Manage and create users groups as per Policies.
• Monitor Server concurrent logins and connections for the Portal environment.
• Monitor disk space, processor utilization, network utilization for the Portal environment.
• Provide remote support for operating system installation and configuration when required.
• Perform regular backup activities on the environment as per the policies and procedures.
• Work with principle vendors when issues arise to determine the root cause of problems to provide work around or permanent fix.
• Perform Operating System management and administration including patch updates, fine-tuning, access management, etc.
• Work with security team to apply fixes, security policies, help with investigations and hardening systems.
